New & Returning Teachers Gear Up for the New School Year
Our amazing teachers hit the ground running when they returned to work on Aug. 7th. They spent the day team building, going over data and getting updates on campus processes and legislation related to education. | Superintendent Dr. Angela Dominguez and her administration welcomed approximately 70 new teachers to the district during the New Teacher Orientation held Aug. 3rd. Attendees heard a powerful message from the superintendent about the importance of their role in the classroom. They were also given an overview of the district's operations, strategic goals and expectations. | The first week of their return to campus, teachers from across the district spent time decorating their classrooms and preparing to welcome their students on the first day of school. They were excited and looking forward to an amazing school year. |
Meet the Teacher Draws Hundreds of Families
Meet the Teacher Night was held across all our campuses on Aug. 9th & 10th. It was a great opportunity for teachers to introduce their classroom and teaching style to families as they stopped by to visit. It also allowed for teachers to create a relationship and establish communication with this year’s students and parents. For parents, it was a chance to get a sneek peek of their child's classroom set up and meet other families whose students will be in class with their child, preview the curriculum and say hello to the teacher.
New School Year off to a Great Start
August 14th marked the first day of school for teachers and students who were eager and excited to kick off another year of teaching and learning. Superintendent Dr. Angela Dominguez and members of the district's administrative team visited schools across the district throughout the day — from morning drop off to afternoon pickup — to ensure a smooth start for students and their parents. Donna ISD wishes everyone a great and successful 2023-2024 school year.
