WHAT'S UP WINNEBAGO?
OCTOBER 2019
FROM THE OFFICE
Hello October!
Here comes the colder weather and with that hats, coats, gloves, sweaters, etc. Please make sure that your student dresses for this weather that changes hourly it seems. Please be sure to have your students name written inside their coats and sweaters. It is easier to find the clothing's owner if it has a name on it. Please also make sure your student has dry shoes for PE. With the rain and upcoming snow an extra pair of running shoes at school would be a great idea.
VALUABLES: Please make sure that your child is not bringing anything valuable to school. The school is not responsible if something is lost or broken during school hours. We also do not allow cellphones or electronics in the school. If they are seen they will be sent to the office and an adult will have to come to the school to pick it up from the office.
Please have your child's name on anything that is being dropped off in the office (lunch box, backpack, coat, etc.)
DAY TIME PICK-UP: If you are having someone that is not the parent pick up your child during school hours please email the office or send a letter with your child stating who is picking them up, the date and time and sign the note. Remind the person picking up that they need to come into the office to sign them out. They must be over the age of 18 and show their ID.
In order to ensure we can get a message to your child's teacher, any changes to their dismissal needs to be called into the office by 2:45pm.
VOLUNTEERS: In an ongoing effort to improve the safety and security of our students, we please ask that if any adults are planning to help out at school in a classroom or go on a field trip, to bring your photo ID into the office to be copied. It needs to be handed in at least 2 days before the day you are going to be volunteering.
BREAKFAST: If your child is getting breakfast they need to be in line and ready to go at door at 8:35am. Breakfast is served until 8:50am, finished or not, all students are required to be in their seats in class at 8:55am. The door they line up at is the new door by the gym with the long overhang, door 27S.
ABSENCE: When your child is marked absent and we have not heard from a parent, we will be sending out a Robo text stating that your child is absent and to call the school. Please make sure that if you call or email your child's teacher, that you also call the office before 9:30am to report your child's absence.
DISMISSAL TIMES: Please remember our dismissal times. We have had a lot of students left in the office late after school everyday. If you know you will be late please try to find an alternate way for your child to get home.

Fall Celebration
This years fall celebration will take place on October 31st. Weather permitting the first through fifth graders will take part in a school wide parade around the school. All students are invited to participate with or without a costume. Parents if you would like to see the parade please gather outside of the school closest to the street as our students will be walking around the sidewalks. The parade moves fast, make sure you arrive early enough to see your student. If there is inclement weather the parade will take place inside of school. Parents who have signed up to help run the classroom parties will be the only parents allowed in the building.
When choosing costumes it is important to remember the school guidelines, any student who does not follow the guidelines will be asked to remove their costume. Costumes should be free of blood, make-up, weapons, masks, as well as not appear scary. Students must be able to put their costume on by themselves, parents will not be able to come to in the school to assist students In changing into their costumes. In addition please take into consideration the weather when you are choosing your child’s costume.
