Halo Highlight: Golden Gala & Auction is Tomorrow!
Dear Saints Families,
The night we've been waiting for is almost here - the Golden Gala & Auction, our signature event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of St. Louis Catholic High School! We can't wait to share with you everything we have in store for this incredible event at Calcasieu Marine National Bank from our live & silent auctions to our Hall of Fame induction of Mike Veron (Landry Memorial Class of 1968), a performance by the Flamethrowers, and more!
Again for those who are joining us tomorrow, VIP Cocktail Hour is from 6-7 p.m. in the Paramount Room, where the Saints Show Choir will perform and the silent auction will be on full display! But the great news is that even if you don't have a ticket, you can still support our Saints students by participating in the silent auction with your cell phone! Bidding opens at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning! Here are the easy steps:
1. All of our families will receive a welcome text message Friday with your bidder number. If for some reason you don’t receive a message with your bidder number and you are not attending the Gala, you may email aatkins@slchs.org to obtain your bidder number and have an opportunity to support our school this way!
2. Text GOLDEN to 71760
3. Tap the link in the reply text message to begin
*Note: If your reply text says short codes are not allowed, text GOLDEN to 845-262-2243.*
If you have any questions, simply email Ashley Ivey-Atkins, Director of Advancement, at aatkins@slchs.org. #StayGolden, Saints!
Updates from Mia Orgeron
There are so many events during one school week that often go unnoticed or passed over because of the busy lives we lead. With permission from the family, I wanted to share a brief description of an event that encapsulates the spirit of St. Louis Catholic. This athlete left the field by ambulance as our Saints community gathered around in prayer. After a long evening in the hospital, the athlete was released. However, the story doesn't end there. The next day the student's parents met with me to share just how much support they received. From fellow Saints families, to coaches visiting the hospital, they were overwhelmed with just what it means to be a Saint.
"This is bigger than an injury," said the father. He's so right. Finally, the best part of the story is when I was able to witness a Senior athlete, who had just suffered a season-ending injury a few days before, stop and ask a coach how the athlete was doing. Wow, talk about selfless!
From our students to the alumni who walked these halls so many years ago, St. Louis Catholic High School truly is family.

NHS Tutoring - From VP Katherine Jester
The students in the Lucidus Chapter of National Honor Society at St. Louis Catholic are dedicated to scholarship, service, leadership and character. One way the National Honor Society serves the St. Louis Catholic community is through our tutoring match program. Parents or students can fill out a tutor request form located under the parent block on www.slchs.org. After the form is submitted, the student will be paired with a qualified NHS tutor.
It is our hope that, together, we can “Raise the Bar” this academic year. For additional questions or information, please contact Melanie LeJeune at mlejeune@slchs.org or Mary Villaume at mvillaume@slchs.org.

At St. Louis Catholic under the direction of Campus Minister Elizabeth "Bit" Thompson, we are continuing the process of reviving the Mass experience for our students each week. It also helps us lay the foundation and expectation for having Adoration, Confession and various other worship opportunities throughout the year. Last week before Mass, we showed our students this video - parents, we encourage you to watch it as well and discuss it with your children!
