Quote of the week
"You can be discouraged by failure, or you can learn from it.”- Thomas J. Watson
From Mr. Wingfield
Congrats to our basketball teams last week as all 4 teams defeated Snook in Snook. The games today have been moved to Burton since Burton played here when we hosted the UIL meet in December.
This week we are taking the STAAR Interim exams for 8th grade science and social studies. Next week, 6th and 8th graders will be taking a state field test for English and Language Arts.
NISD sent out a survey in regards to feedback for the next superintendent. If you would like to provide any input, please open the link to the google form and fill out. The search firm will be using input to help make decisions during the selection process.
Next week, on February 8, we will be hosting our first annual CTE night for 7th and 8th graders. In an effort to provide as much information as possible we have teamed up with the High School CTE teachers so that our students can learn more about each program. Since we are adding elective HS courses in students' 8th grade year, we want to make sure they are only taking classes they will need for graduation and endorsements. This will allow them to get HS credit while they are in 8th grade. Hope to see you there! If you have any questions, please contact the HS office.
Please look at every section below in order to get updates on events and/or any other pertinent information regarding Normangee MS and NISD.
In an effort to continually keep our students and campus safe, all parents will need to physically enter the building in order to check out your child for any reason. We will pull your child out of class when you arrive and have gone through the check-out procedures. Thanks for your cooperation.
If there is any other information you would like to receive through the MS Newsletter, please feel free to email me at jwingfield@normangeeisd.org
As always, if I can help in any way please let me know.

From the Bus Barn-New Bus Management System
The Transportation Department is in the process of changing over a new Bus Management System called Bus Right. This system will enhance student safety, streamline bus communication, and manage routes at the touch of a button. A GPS system will track the bus on it's route and provide real time information to parents, administrators and route drivers. Parents will have peace of mind receiving drop off and pick up information before and after school. The system should be online soon. In the meantime, below is the information needed to download the app. Once you set it up on your phone, the app will automatically start giving you information when the transportation department has it up and running. We will let you know when that happens.
