Puerto Rico is a US territory. They are US citizens, but they can not vote in presidential elections. They're national holiday is July 4th along with their own Constitution Day which is July 25.

Their national sport is baseball. There are many people people from Puerto Rico who have turned pro.

The capital of Puerto Rico is San Juan. The current population of Puerto Rico is 3,674,209 since July 2013. The currency used in Puerto Rico is the American dollar since they are property of the United States.
Interesting Places
El Yunque is a Federal Forest Reserve. It is known for attracting tourists. Castillo de San Cristobal was built to protect the island from enemy attacks. It was designed in 1634 and it was finished in 1790. Arecibo observatory is the largest single-dished radio telescope in the world. It is apart of the NAIC. La Ceiba de Ponce is a tree park. El Morro is the US National Park service.
Famous People & Food
Certain famous people who are from Puerto Rico are Joseline Hernandez, Ricky Martin, and Daddy Yankee. Ms. Joseline Hernandez is the reality pop star of VH1's Love & Hip Hop. Ricky Martin is famous for his hit song "Livin' La Vida Loca." Last, but not least is Daddy Yankee. He is a widely famous Latin recording artist, whose album Barrio Fino was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award.
Food is popular in Puerto Rico. From their flavors to their cultural cusines, you can always find something interesting in Puerto Rico. Tostones are deep fried banana slices and are very common throughout Puerto Rico. Pernil is the Puerto Rican pork shoulder. Pasta de guayaba is like a sort of thick sweet paste and it is usually served with cheese. It is served mainly in the Dominican Republic, but it is also popular within Puerto Rico.
