PTO Meeting Update
- The ice rink is up and running! Students may skate during recess if there is adult supervision. If you would like to help, please contact the school office. Students should bring their own skates and skate guards. Helmets are encouraged. The rink maintenance is funded by the PTO.
- On Jan. 31 from 9-10 a.m., there will be coffee and donuts for those parents or guardians who would like to meet with Principal Nick Straw and ask questions. The refreshments are sponsored by the PTO.
- Our school provided holiday gifts and food to seven Gladys Wood families in need. All of the donations were covered by GW staff, families, School Business Partners and other anonymous donors. Nurse Kathy reported it was wonderful to be able to do this for our families and they were very thankful.
- The Sport-a-Thon is our school's second big fundraiser of the year (in addition to the Read-a-Thon). The activities will kick off on Feb. 7 during the school day. There will be a family skate night that evening. Parents can also learn more about the Sport-A-Thon during skate night.
- 6th grade fundraising continues for the end-of-year activities. Fundraising is on target so that the fun day will be of no cost to 6th-grade families.
- The March family night is tentatively scheduled for March 20 to be a multicultural event.
The next general PTO meeting is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 4. We value participants' time and will limit the meeting to 1 hour or less. Childcare is provided free of charge.
Spring Carnival Planning
The carnival will take place on April 3. Save the date!
Yearbooks for Sale
The yearbooks are $20 and can be ordered online with a ID code of 8806120 or in the school office.
