Assuring learning excellence and readiness for a changing world.
Thank you!
Thank you to those who were able to join us for conferences February 11th. We hope you found the informational meetings on registration, AP classes, and AVID helpful in navigating course registration for the 2019-20 school year. Also, thank you for taking time to meet with our teachers. We know when school and home partner together it has a positive impact on our students. "It takes a village" to raise a teenager!
Snow Week
Snow Week was a success, and it was our first full week of school in 2019! Matt Krueger was crowned Snow King, the student team "1 Bump Chump" were victorious over the teacher team in volleyball, and Jenna Courrier and Mr. Elston won the Dance Off.
Thank you to our student council for planning this great event!
Registration
Advanced Placement Exam Registration
If your student is taking an AP class and intends to take the AP exam (students who score a 3 or better are able to earn college credit), registration is going on now.
This year, each AP exam costs $56.00. Students requiring financial assistance should contact Mr. Tom Villagomez (tvilla1@isd77.org), school counselor and AP Coordinator, to learn more. If you qualify for free/reduced lunch, please mark accordingly during registration as this will decrease your exam costs.
Online exam registration began on Wednesday, Jan 31, 2019 at 8:00 AM and ends on Sunday, March 4, 2019 at 10:00 PM.

To complete registration, students must answer all of the required questions. Registration is not complete until students have printed the PDF of the confirmation page that is provided at the end. We know that parents may desire to register their students for exams. We strongly recommend that parents and students are both present while registering to ensure that the correct exams are ordered.
Congratulations to Lucas Guo, a National Merit Scholar Finalist for 2019!

Congratulations to our Girls Alpine Ski team who competed in the state meet for the 7th year in a row!
Our gymnastics team will compete in the state meet; team competition is Friday, February 22 and individual competition is Saturday, February 23. Good luck, ladies!

New Superintendent Search
The Mankato Area Public Schools ISD 77 School Board has contracted with School Exec Connect, a superintendent search firm, to assist with the search for a new superintendent. Board members want you to be informed of the process that we will be following as we conduct the search for a new superintendent. Additionally, we hope that you will give your input to assist us in making the best selection possible.
To begin the process, the School Exec Connect consultants will meet with board members, school staff, parents, students and community members individually and in focus groups over the next couple of weeks to determine the challenges, strengths, goals of our district and what characteristics or skills you would like to see in our next superintendent.
You may choose to give your confidential feedback by accessing the Mankato Area Public Schools ISD 77 website at www.isd77.org and completing the online feedback form. All replies will be confidential. Please submit feedback no later than February 26.
