How to set up Google Calendar to keep track of the school schedule: This is a short video for secondary students on how to set up Google Calendar to keep track of the school schedule and set reminders so they will know when to go to Canvas for each class. The video is prepared by Jennifer Pringle, Instructional Coach at Pasadena High School, and is primarily targeted to PHS students, but could be useful to others in order to learn about Google Calendar.

i-Ready Diagnostic 2 for 1st-8th grade only. Diagnostic 2 window will be from January 19th - February 5th. Curriculum Associates is providing more parent sessions to prepare parents for the second diagnostic. The information for parents was sent through the school sites. The sessions do have Spanish translation. They have provided a link to the recording of last night's session:
Mindful Mondays: D'Veal Family and Youth Services is offering Mindful Mondays "Me Time" moment. Each Monday they will offer a 15-minute zoom session to support you as you navigate these uncertain, and often emotionally charged, times. They hope these sessions will provide you a moment of peace and calmness as you gear up for your work week. Sessions resumed on Monday January 11, 2021, and will continue on Mondays thereafter. PUSD Mental Health: Free suicide prevention webinar for parents in English. Suicide Prevention 101 for Parents: Recognizing Signs and What to Do, January 27, 2021, 5:00-6:00pm (in English). This free webinar will provide information about suicide prevention for parents, including warning signs for suicide, how to have a conversation with their child, actions to take if their child is having suicidal thoughts, and resources. The webinar is provided in partnership with the California Department of Education, the Directing Change Program, and Teen Line. Day One is working with the Pasadena Public Health Department to gather community perceptions of COVID-19, gauging alcohol use during the pandemic, and to help regain trust in public health messaging. The survey is open to anyone who lives in Pasadena who is twelve and older. Twenty participants will be randomly selected to win $25 Target gift cards for completing the survey. To complete the survey, please click HERE The deadline to complete the survey is January 29. Currently the survey is only available in English and will be available in Spanish soon.

Play Ball! Registration is Now Open for Sierra Madre Girls Softball Association Spring 2021 Season
Dust off your bat and glove and get ready to play ball! Registration is now open for the Spring 2021 softball season!
Sierra Madre Girls Softball Association (SMGSA) is a non-profit organization run by a group of dedicated volunteers. Each year we offer the opportunity for girls ages 5 to 16 to learn softball skills and good sportsmanship in a safe and positive environment. Over 500 girls from Sierra Madre and throughout the San Gabriel Valley come together to play fast pitch softball and have fun with friends. Registration is open at www.smgsa.org. The registration deadline has been extended to Wednesday, January 27. Spaces are limited, so sign up soon!
