SLA-MS is a place of learning. For students to be successful we need your support with:
- Chromebooks - Having a fully charged chromebook at the beginning of each school day is crucial. Please remind your student to plug in their chromebook each night to charge while they sleep. A fully charged chromebook should last the entire school day. If your student needs a new charger, there is information on how to order a new one at the following link: https://slams.philasd.org/chromebooks/
- School starts at 8:15. Being on time is essential to students starting their day off right. Students need to have their breakfast completed and chrome books charged.
- Student's cell phones are to be off during the school day. If you need to reach your student you can call our main office at (215) 400-8320.
- Keep slime at home: Slime, putty and other gooey substances are not allowed at SLA-MS. It can ruin Chrome Books, other personal belongings and clog sinks. Please keep it at home.
- Dress for warmth! Winter is here! Please make sure your SLA-MS student is dressed to be warm and comfortable.

A Word from our SLA- MS Parents:
A SLA-MS HSA Google Group has been formed to offer another way for families to connect and for information to be circulated. Many of you likely belong to Google Groups for other schools, neighborhood groups, etc. Content for this group should be SLA-MS focused. To start, everyone that receives the weekly Advisory Memo has been added. The default setting is to send you a group message on any day with activity.
A few things you may wish to change:
1) You may opt-out if you are not interested in participating via this forum
2) You may update your user name to reflect who you are
3) You may change the frequency in which you receive messages
4) You may invite other SLA-MS families to join too: https://groups.google.com/d/forum/sla-ms-hsa
We ask that you click on the "Introductions" message to share who you are with those that are here! Any new topic should get its own thread - so far there is one about travel buddies, bullying, mini-courses, etc. Whatever else members want to discuss more broadly can be started with a new post either in the group or via email: sla-ms-hsa@googlegroups.com.
Our hope is that this will become an effective and useful tool for our school community!
