Armstrong Tech
End of the Year 2015
Your MacBook
- Don't leave your MacBook plugged in all the time. Your battery won't last as long.
- Once a month let your MacBook battery go all the way down to zero.
- Try not to walk around with your MacBook open. It is hard on the hard drive.
SeeSaw app
SeeSaw is a great portfolio and sharing app that is easily set up, and appropriate for everyone from kindergarten up to 5th grade to use. It is great for 1:1, small sets of iPads, and even no iPads at all (can be web based). In order to use, you really just need one device. I really think it would be great for people working 1:1 or in small groups with kids.
GCF Learning
Our district will not be renewing our subscription to lynda.com. At some point in July you will no longer be able to access it. GCFLearning.org is a free alternative you can use.
Newsletters in Google
If you set up a shared folder that you save your newsletters in and link that folder to your website you will never have to upload a newsletter again. It works best if you save your newsletter as a pdf.
Next Year: Tech Mentoring
I will be looking for new people to mentor next year for integrating technology. Please consider this opportunity and think of what you might like to work on.
