Lunch Application Reminders
Last year's free/reduced meal statuses expired at the beginning of October. If you would like to retain your child's free/reduced lunch status, please remember to re-apply by filling out a paper lunch application (available at the Front Office) or online through SchoolCafe.com (when registering, please select the school district "Harmony PS Waco.") If you have any questions about applying for free/reduced lunch, please email the Lunch Clerk at adizon@harmonytx.org.
You can also use School Cafe to make online lunch payments, as well as set up automatic payments for when your child's lunch balance gets low.
Please remember to check and make payments on your child's lunch balance regularly. Regular breakfast is $1.70 a day, and regular lunch is $3.00 a day. Students are allowed to owe up to $10 for meals. Once their balance exceeds that limit, they will instead receive an alternate meal until you can make a payment.
NO FISH ITEMS PLEASE
We have many students with food allergies please do not give your student any fish items in their lunches for snacks and no items containing loose nuts.
Thank you for your help in this matter to keep all our students safe & healthy
Absence From School Notes
Please make note of the school policy regarding absences. All notes should be signed in to the front office binder by a parent within three days of the absence.. If you send the note by your child, the student may sign it in at the front office. It is the parent's responsibility to
make sure that the absence note or doctor's notes are given to the front office. Teachers are not allowed to accept excuse notes from the students. You may read our Attendance policy in the student handbook pages 13 and 14. Please beware that for every 10 tardies, it is counted as one day of absence and a conference with parents. Attendance is a very important matter that is always monitored. Please call Mrs. Ewton with any questions that you may have regarding attendance. Thank you.
Loitering
Students are not allowed to remain on campus unsupervised after designated dismissal times. The school will not have adult supervision after school hours. A student who remains on campus unsupervised after dismissal time may be subject to state criminal trespass laws. Disciplinary consequences for remaining on campus unsupervised after designated dismissal times within a school year are as follows:
Dismissal Policy
Dear Parents/Guardians:
We would like to clear up any confusion about our drop-off and dismissal procedures.
Drop-Off
· Drop-Off time for 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM. After 7:45, they will be considered tardy.
· If a student arrives after 7:45 AM, they must enter through the front for a tardy slip from the front office.
Dismissal
·Middle School students can be picked up from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM from the gym.
·High School students can be picked up from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM west exit.
·After 3:30 students can be picked up in front office.
Walk Passes
Students may walk or bike home with an approved Walk Pass. Student Walk Release forms can be picked up from the front office. They must be completed by a parent or guardian, then signed and approved by an administrator before the actual Walk Pass will be given to the student.
Students with a walk pass are expected to promptly leave campus through the west side door after the dismissal bell and are not permitted to loiter on campus. They must show their Walk Pass to Harmony Staff before leaving campus.
Walk Passes can be revoked if students do not comply with Walk Pass regulations.
Students that leave campus without a Walk Pass will receive an automatic referral to the Dean of Discipline.
