Eagle Awards
Teacher of the Month
ACE is full of wonderful teachers... every one of them! Each month, we recognize one teacher that has done an exceptional job. This teacher is recognized for his or her dedication, professionalism, and excellence in instruction. The teacher is nominated by the previous month's teacher of the month and awarded with a plaque to display in his/her room.
This month's teacher of the month was nominated by Ms. Engle and she stated the following:
There are good teachers, great teachers, and then there are exceptional ones that were born with the gift. This teacher certainly has that special gift! This person is dependable, hard working, compassionate, and loves her students as if they were her own. I can tell you first hand, she is a blessing to work with and to have her as a teammate, which I miss more than she knows. Most of all, she is a blessing to each child that has been lucky enough to be her student. The next teacher of the month is Mrs. Sarah Powell! '
Classified Employee of the Month
ACE has many wonderful people, from assistants to custodians to office staff to cafeteria workers and everywhere in between that make our school an amazing place. The Classified Employee of the Month Award was created so that classified employees who go above and beyond their normal job responsibilities, who offer unique contributions to ACE, who have a significant positive impact on those they work with or come in contact with, and who consistently perform for the betterment of ACE could be recognized for their work.
This month’s classified employee of the month goes to someone that is truly a team player. Words used to describe this person in multiple nominations were helpful, willing and an angel. Whether it is helping with lunch duty, bus duty, collecting car numbers, cutting, laminating, copying, printing, or helping with the e-store; this person does it with a smile! This person helps students, staff and parents, all while treating everyone with kindness. She works hard to make sure all of her tasks are complete and goes above and beyond. This person is a ray of sunshine that works hard to help in any way she can for every person she can. She is kind, courteous and obviously loves her job. For that reason, this month’s classified employee of the month is Mrs. TJ Kidd.
Intramural Basketball - 4th & 5th Grade
ACE will be hosting basketball intramurals for 4th and 5th graders for the next 3 weeks. The basketball intramurals are for any 4th or 5th grade student that is interesting in playing. This program is designed to simply give students another opportunity to be physically active at school. The basketball intramurals will be slightly different from previous intramurals in that boys will come one day and girls will come another. Both 4th and 5th grade boys will participate on Tuesday mornings from 6:40-7:40 and both 4th and 5th grade girls will participate on Wednesday mornings from 6:40-7:40. If your child is interested in participating in just one week, he/she may do so. Or if your child is interested in participating multiple weeks, he/she may do that as well. A signup will be sent every Friday for the intramural basketball club for the following week. You will need to sign up each week if you want your child to participate the following week. The signups will be sent in the same e-mail and be labeled "Boys" and "Girls" so be sure to sign up under the correct link. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. It is a first-come-first-serve basis as there are only a limited number of spaces for players.
Unfortunately, due to limited space in the gym we cannot accommodate spectators for this program. However, if you are interested in volunteering to officiate games, please contact jason.crisp@fayette.kyschools.us

YMCA Programming Update
At ACE
Enrollment for the 2023-2024 YMCA after school program is about to begin. There will be online and well as on-site registration for families that are interested. The YMCA has priority registration scheduled for April 19-21. They plan on coming to ACE to register existing families or you may register online using the link below. We will be sending out Infinite Campus blasts with times and locations of on-site registration soon! Students that are currently enrolled in the ESP program, as well as their siblings, will have first priority. Once we have the priority registration complete, then we will open up registration for those not currently in ESP. That will open up both online and in person on May 3. We are very excited about this new program at ACE. Be sure to watch for more details to come on the after school program.
There are still a few spots left in the YMCA summer program at ACE. Important information from the YMCA concerning the summer camp that will be at ACE… The YMCA will run a summer camp at ACE for 7 weeks. It will run from June 5th - July 28th, and will NOT run July 3-7. The camp runs from 7am - 6pm Monday - Friday. The cost is $160 for members and $185 for non-members with a $20 registration fee per child (CCAP or YMCA scholarship does not cover registration fee.)
Registration begins on February 5th for members and February 20th for non-members. Parents will need to register online using this link. When registering, you will want to scroll down to the bottom to learn about the scholarship opportunities. This camp will be licensed and they will be accepting CCAP.

Smart Watches and Smart Phones - Repeat
Per FCPS Code of Conduct, students may not use personal electronic devices during the school day, without teacher permission. This includes but is not limited to smart phones, smart watches, etc. Teachers have talked with their classes about leaving these in their backpacks and turned off during the day. If the student needs to contact you during the school day, he/she needs to let the teacher know and they will make that contact. If you would like to review the Student Code of Conduct, you may do so here. Thank you!
Transportation Reminders - Repeat
- Please remember that students are tardy if they are not in class at 7:45. Please make every effort to get your child to school prior to 7:45.
- Please use the front AND back car lot lanes. You may be directed to the rear bus lane to drop off. We open that lot at 7:20 after the buses exit. This helps with the flow to the front lot. So please use it if directed that way.
- Pull all the way forward in the car lane. We need to get as many cars in the lane as we can.
- Have your child ready to exit once the car comes to a stop. Please make sure breakfast has already been eaten and child is ready to exit the car quickly. Again, this speeds the process up!
- Absolutely NO PASSING in the car lane unless directed to do so by a staff member. This is a safety hazard.
- When picking up your child in the afternoon; if your child needs extra time to buckle, please pull forward ahead of the red cone so we can keep the car lane moving.
🍎Child Nutrition Updates - Repeat🍏
Our cafeteria staff is the best! They work hard to provide your child with the best "dining" experience available in schools. Just a reminder that our school is not providing free meals this year as we have in the past unless you have applied and been approved for free or reduced lunches. If you are interested in applying for free/reduced, please click here. Otherwise, prices for meals are as follows:
- Student breakfast: $2
- Adult breakfast: $3
- Student lunch: $2.75
- Adult lunch: $5
- Milk: $0.60
- Snacks are now $0.50 and $1
