Volume #9 - Engineers Finding Creative Practical Solutions
This is ETA!
Engineering & Technologies Academy (ETA) is located at Roosevelt High School. ETA provides a specialized curriculum with rigor and relevance for students seeking a future in Engineering, Cyber Security, Advance Manufacturing (Robotics) and Graphic Design. In addition, ETA students are prepared for attaining Industry-Based Certifications related to these fields of study. Students at ETA also enjoy the opportunity to get involved and compete year-round in CyberPatriots, Robotics, Rocketry and with the (TSA) Technology Student Association competitions up to the national level. ETA believes in the added value of advanced placement course where students are strongly encouraged to graduate at the Distinguished Level with as many endorsements as they are able to achieve. ETA offers a hands-on, problem-based learning environment where they continually are faced with solving real-world problems using the most current methods, modalities and technologies available. These skill sets guide our magnet students into becoming very adept problem solvers with excellent critical thinking skills.
ETA Administration
Mr. Robert Lozano - ETA Director
“I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do.” – Leonardo da Vinci (engineer, inventor, artist, mathematician)
As I visit our ETA specialized classrooms, I want to take the time to commend our teachers for developing and implementing engaging lessons that encourage our students to "learn by doing." I notice our students actively engaged in multiple lab-type settings working with their peers in problem-solving each task placed before them. Through the engineering process, our students learn, grow and adjust their creative practical solutions each time an experiment or design fails. Our ETA students, through practice of trail and error understand that for every failure, there is an alternative course of action. You just have to work at finding it...
ETA students, continue to work hard, meet assignment deadlines and find the time to balance between your school work and your hobbies during your past time. NOTE: Remember that grades for this first nine weeks are due this Friday (10/16) by our teachers, so please ensure that all of your work is accounted for and turned in before this deadline.
Best Regards,
Robert Lozano
