Message from the Principal . . .
What a great first week! A former LWIT/LWTH principal always said "a successful first day is measured by students making it to school, getting fed and making it home at the end of the day". Judging by those standards not only did we have a successful first day of school, but an amazing first week. The success we've achieved can be attributed to the long hours each of you invested in preparing for the opening of school, with special thanks to Abby Lambley who spent several weeks working on student schedules with minimal changes necessary, Carolyn Casserly and Laurie Lattarulo for ensuring that equipment and materials were prepared in advance for student IDs; John Dreisbach and Shauna Kelly who processed purchase orders for your supply and equipment needs; and Heidi Duff and Emily Bordner for working tirelessly to process financial aid applications. As I visited classrooms during the first week, there was a flurry of activity from students taking part in ice breaker activities; to students recalling previously learned information; to students painting fenders in auto collision. As I look at this first week from a bird's eye view, this has been one of the smoothest openings of schools to date.
I created a prezi of this past week for you to view - click on the picture and once the prezi opens, click on the arrows at the bottom of the picture to navigate .
