What is show tunes?
Show tunes is a form of a theatrical performance that combines songs, acting, and dancing. Show tunes emerged during the 19th century, but in the early 20th century, musical theatre stage works been called musicals.
When and Where?
In 1870, the upcoming of Broadway was in Union Square, but by the end of the century, many theatres relocated near Madison Square. Theatres did not arrive in the Times Sqaure area until the early 1900s.

Laura started taking dance when she was five, and danced up until high school, once she was 16. She came to the point where she had to decide which type of dance she would pursue, and ended up choosing theater.
