Transportation
Methacton’s transportation management team and software provider are engaged in the process of reviewing all district routes, and will now work with the new boundaries that have been drawn for Methacton’s remaining four elementary schools. The complete routing project is underway, and will be ongoing over the next several months. This process includes an overall analysis of bus stops, safety protocols, and length of ride. Additionally, drivers are engaged to add local knowledge and input. Before finalization, routes will be analyzed to ensure they comply with administrative expectations. Families can expect to receive transportation assignment information in August.
At a glance...Transition Timeline of Tasks
- Programming at Elementary Schools - This includes planning for staffing and supports as well as placement of classrooms in buildings and any needed renovation projects.
- Transition Event Planning - Along with support from the Home & School Transition Committee, we are looking at how we will close out this school year as well as how we will support students, families and staff as we move toward the start of 2017-2018 school year.
- Transportation - Work in this area will be ongoing with BusBoss on routing, analysis and revision for the 2017-2018 school year.
- We will also be working on development of a specific communication for families regarding their school assignment for the upcoming year. This involves cross-checking all student data according to established sending area boundaries. This communication will be sent out after building principals are announced and will provide a means for families to share information with the building principal in preparation for the upcoming year.
