The Principal's Desk

I am excited to share the first edition of our Comet Connect newsletter with you. The goal of this monthly publication will be to share news, information, and celebrations with our Classen family. There are numerous great things going on every day at Classen and we want to make sure to share as much of it with you as possible. We also post up to the minute news and celebrations via our official Twitter page and would like to invite you to follow us @ClassenSASOKC as well.

An Announcement From Mr. Denman, our Guitar Program Director

In an effort to provide the highest quality educational and artistic opportunities for guitar students and to foster a thriving, positive, and challenging artistic ecosystem, I have led the charge in creating the National Guitar Adjudication Council. This organization will allow students to be adjudicated in a prerecorded, virtual, or in-person format by top-tier professionals. The competitions will feature clear multilevel-based rubrics, substantive feedback, and in time may even grow to have its own state, regional, and national orchestras with guitar education conventions. I have asked some of the very best in the world to oversee our first trial run on April 15th, 2022: Dr. Isaac Bustos (UT San Antonio), Dr. Matthew Cochran (Interlochen), and Dr. Celil Refik Kaya (New Jersey City University).
