Message from the Principal
Dear Whittier Parents/Guardians,
As we continue our journey in supporting student achievement, I wanted to share with you the state report card from the 2017-2018 school year. Please read the attached letter to review the report card and notice what next steps Whittier will focus on to ensure success for all.
As we have shared in the past, your engagement and involvement in your child's education, is vital to their success. We want to make sure we are a team in helping your child reach their dreams. A few ways you can support at home that will encourage student learning here at school is to set a appropriate bed time for you child. Avoid having any technology (phones, ipdas, tvs, computers, etc.) that will prevent your child from having a good night sleep. This article shares the amount of hours your child needs by age in order to be successful.
We need students here EVERY DAY to support their learning and achievement. Thank you for supporting your child, supporting us and setting high expectations to not only help them be successful now, but in middle school, high school and beyond!
Have a wonderful weekend! Remind your student to read, read, read!
PARKING
- Please be respectful to school and parking signs outside. We really need to make sure ALL our students get home safely.
- If you are picking up your student, please park and walk to get them from their line up. All K-2 student will give their teachers a high five, to ensure they have seen the adult picking them up.
- When it is raining and eventually snowing, the same expectations will be enforced.
- DO NOT STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET AND CALL YOUR STUDENT TO CROSS THE ROAD. We want to prevent any accidents that will cause injury to any of our students.
Important Dates
