A Note From Mrs. Mathe
I have referenced a few times the determination and GRIT exhibited by our staff this school year. Today I want to recognize the GRIT our students have exhibited this school year. The school norm they know has changed, and they have adjusted to this new way of learning with grace!
I found a video this week that discusses the correlation between grit and success with students. I am not a researcher and have not dedicated my life to that work, but I have been an observer of children in the educational setting for 17 years. Based on my experiences, and success stories I have heard, I know this to be true. Grit determines success! And a growth mindset is key. Teachers and parents are our student's number one model for how to overcome adversity and challenges. I hope you will take a few minutes to watch this video.

Learning Platform Selection- Due MONDAY 9/28/2020
As we begin to prepare for the 2nd grading period, and the shift of many student's instructional setting, it may be necessary to adjust our master schedule. If you remember, at the beginning of the year, our teacher leaders chose to teach both virtually and remotely in order to lessen the number of teacher changes a student may have to make when switching learning platforms. Currently, teachers have been able to instruct their in-person students for half the day, and their virtual students the other half. This was due to the number of students enrolled in each mode of instruction. As students come back on campus, we will be making adjustments to accommodate this change.
One of the changes that may occur is that some of our teacher pairs will begin to instruct our in-person students and remote students simultaneously. Teachers will communicate to families any necessary changes to live instruction time, office hours, and/or small group instruction.
Below are the links that were emailed yesterday for requesting a change in instructional setting. Please click the link for the learning platform your child is CURRENTLY participating in.
