Pleasantdale Middle School

Thank you, Veterans!

Thank you to all of the Veterans who have made our nation what it is today! Especially thank you to Veterans from the Pleasantdale 107 School District and Lyons Township! There is no nobler way to serve our country!

At exactly 11:11 a.m. every Veteran's Day (November 11), the sun aligns perfectly with the Anthem Veteran's Memorial in Arizona to shine through the ellipses of the five marble pillars representing each branch of the Armed Forces, illuminating The Great Seal of the United States. --Tom Colabufo

Healthy Students Reminders...

Remember, parents, a student must be fever free and not have vomited for 24-hours before returning to school. We are aware that there appears to be a strain of a flu-like virus going around affecting some students. Although we know that many students want to return to school as soon as possible because of the lessons and work they are missing, please follow the 24-hour rule before sending your child back to school. We appreciate the continued partnership in our efforts to keep everyone healthy and safe here at school.

Rescheduled Parent Education Presentation-The Technology Your Children Are Using-Rescheduled to Thursday, December 13 at 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Come to hear and ask about the technology and apps your children are using in this low-key, informative sessions led by Principal Sonntag. We'll discuss apps like Youtube, Snapchat, Instagram, Musically, and much more! In addition, some parental advice from one parent to another will be shared about how best to manage and stay on top of what your children are doing online.

Tiger Tipline

While it is always best to talk directly to a staff member, we understand that sometimes this can be uncomfortable or difficult for students or parents. At Pleasantdale Middle School, we offer the Tiger Tipline as an anonymous tool for reporting unsafe, uncomfortable, or unkind behaviors and situations. We explicitly teach the students that if they ever see something or hear something that makes them feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or is unkind, either online or in person, they should tell a “trusted adult” which could be parents, school personnel, or other adults in their lives. The Tiger Tipline can be accessed here and we will post the link in Schoology and create a shortcut to the link on the student devices for easy access.

Dates for the Year

If you are like me, you want to know the dates for the year as far in advance as possible. As long as you understand that something may change due to unforeseen circumstances, I’d like to provide you access to the dates we’ve planned for the year (many of which are in the paper calendar you received in the mail). To access the middle school calendar dates, please click here.
