Band Fees
This year, you can pay band fees through cash or check (made out to Hudson Band Boosters), Paypal through Charms (watch this video to walk you through the Charms system), and for the first time - credit card through the band website. Visit the band website and enter the password HawkBD2223 to enter the secure page and pay online. Please consider adding the optional donation to your cart to cover the credit card fees we incur using this convenient service.
If you have a financial hardship, please communicate with us so we can help you. We never want a student to be unable to participate due to finances and will do everything we can to work with your family and ensure your student is included.
Clear Bag Policy Garland ISD has a clear bag policy that will be in effect at all games and performances this year. Please familiarize yourself with the policy so you aren't caught off guard this year. | GISD VIP Pass for Seniors Senior citizens 65 and older can get free general admission to GISD-hosted athletics and Fine Arts events with a VIP pass. | Volunteer Application REQUIRED In order to volunteer on any GISD campus, you must have a completed/accepted volunteer application on file. Lockers/Locks
WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE ALL STUDENTS TO USE A LOCK!
If you would like to use your own lock, you are free to do so. You will need to provide the band directors with a copy of the key or the combination if you choose to use your own lock.
Parents please help your student practice opening a combination lock. It is not a skill most students have experience with; they can definitely use your help!
Log in to Charms
Log in as a parent/student/member
The school code is hudsonsoundmachine
The password for first time users is your student's GISD ID number (should be 6 digits)
For non-first time users, your password should be your student's ID with their capitalized initials in front (i.e. HB123456) unless you've changed it to something else.
Please update contact information (add adults as necessary), check your student's birthday ID, instrument, etc. and make changes as necessary. If you have questions or have difficulty logging in, please contact Mrs. Becker.
Morning/Afternoon Procedures
When students arrive at school in the morning they will come straight to the band hall to drop off their instrument and band binder. After putting their instrument in their locker, they will report straight to either the cafeteria to eat breakfast or to the big gym if they are not eating.
**ONCE THEY RECEIVE THEIR SOAR CARD & ID, STUDENTS MUST BE WEARING THEIR SOAR CARD WITH THEIR BAND PASS INSIDE THE POCKET TO BE ALLOWED DOWN TO THE BAND HALL BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL.**
At the end of the day, students will come down to the band hall at dismissal to pick up their instrument and band binder to take it home and practice each night. If your student is a car rider, you are welcome to drop off and pick up your student in the back of the building (near door #11), where the band hall exit is. **It is less crowded at pickup in the back - take advantage of being in the band!**
When we begin sectionals with the Honors Band and Wind Symphony students, the band hall will open at 7:50am. That will begin the 3rd week of school.
