Open Call for Proposals

SUII is pleased to announce a new open call for proposals. Applications are invited from our member universities to run knowledge exchange programmes beginning in autumn 2018. Proposals should include academics and members of communities beyond academia, e.g. the public and voluntary sectors, business and industry, as well as bringing in international expertise.

Applicants should complete an online Expression of Interest, followed by a full application (deadline 25 May, 5pm). There will be opportunities to hear more about the programme and details of this specific call at one of our information sessions (see below).

Programme teams who have an established idea for a proposal they would like to develop are invited to attend our project design workshop to discuss ideas and hear tips from previous programme leads.

What makes a successful SUII programme? How can you design your project to ensure it will 'make a difference' to policy and/or practice. Previous programme leaders will facilitate discussion and share ideas on developing a SUII proposal. Find out what worked well for them and discuss your own project ideas.

Learning from Other Places programme conference

Thursday, March 1st, 3:30pm

43-45 High Street

This event will highlight the outcomes and learning from a series of 6 programmes supported under the 2016 SUII call for proposals - Learning from other places.

Programmes focussed on knowledge exchange between places, (as well as between disciplines and between academics and non-academics), to draw on the experience and explore the lessons that could be learned from varying policy and practice approaches in different parts of the UK, EU and further afield.

Follow Up Support

Further support is available to participants of programmes previously funded by the Scottish Universities Insight Institute to develop programme results and outcomes, with a view to maximising impact on policy or practice. The fund offers an opportunity to build on successful SUII programmes by supporting a range of follow up activities including wider and deeper dissemination of insights or the trialling of policy and practice innovations.

Applications will be received on a rolling basis. Further details:
