The Positivity Project - INTEGRITY!
This week our students will learn more about the character strength of integrity!
What is integrity?
Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching. People with integrity practice what they preach and maintain a consistent pattern of behavior aligned with their values. They have the courage not to follow the crowd if it means going against their beliefs. Integrity is closely aligned with the terms of honesty and authenticity. People with integrity tell the truth and have alignment in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
The parent virtue for integrity is Courage. Strengths of courage involve applying will and fortitude in overcoming internal or external resistance to accomplish goals. Strengths comprised in this virtue are bravery, perseverance, integrity, and zest/enthusiasm.
Please use these quotes and discuss with your child what they learn about Integrity this week.
"We learned about honesty and integrity - that the truth matters...and success doesn't count unless you earn it fair and square." ~Michelle Obama
2019-2020 Matey Mini-thon!!
Thank you to all of our families for supporting our 2nd Matey-Minithon. Together we raised about $32,000! These funds will be used to install shade shelters on the playground, offer students cultural arts performances, and provide teacher materials to support academics in the classroom.
Thank you for your support!
Kiss the Pig & Transit Vocal
What is Transit Vocal???
All band, no instruments…
transit is four singers, that’s it. Their only instruments are their natural born voices. Everything you hear from the stage and on our studio recordings begins with the human voice. Utilizing the latest technology they combine their vocal talents with stage and studio effects to bring music to life and put on a show that those who have never seen a vocal band will hardly believe.

National School Lunch Week!
October 14 to 18, 2019 is National School Lunch Week!
This year’s #NSLW18 theme is School Lunch: “What’s on your Playlist?” which spotlights the wide variety of flavors, dishes, delivery options and tastes that can be customized in today’s school lunch. Students and school nutrition professionals connect and share their playlist along with parents, school officials, the media and the general public.
Download these activity sheets for student to complete. Students can bring them to the cafe and help decorate to celebrate National School Lunch Week!
Dwarfism Awareness Month
October is Dwarfism Awareness month and Mayor Dick Sears has proclaimed October 25 as Dwarfism Awareness Day in Holly Springs. People with dwarfism have short stature. Achondroplasia is the most common type of dwarfism. Achondroplasia is a genetic condition that affects about 1 in 15,000 to 1 in 40,000 people. It makes your arms and legs short in comparison to your head and trunk. We have a little person in our school community and we are eagerly learning about Dwarfism and promoting acceptance of all children through The Positivity Project.
