A Message from Mrs. Venegas

Hello Raider Family!

We had a WONDERFUL first week of school. Did you and your Raider feel the same?

It was so great to have our hallways filled again with students. Our Raiders are a sharp-looking bunch! They did so well learning their class schedules, moving through the hallways quickly during transitions, and jumping right in to learning from their teachers. The smiles on their faces, the excitement in their voices, and the positive energy they exude is unmatched. We are in for a fabulous school year!

Please note that our Album drop-off/pick-up area (south side of the campus near the gyms) is open all morning and afternoon for your convenience to drop off and pick up your Raider. Please use the entire length of this area to help alleviate congestion at Album & Chaswood. We recommend that you make arrangements with your Raider to pick them up further down Album near Cuesta Brava or Cumbre Negre and not have to be backed up heading west on Album.

We thank you for your patience and understanding while we work through our morning and afternoon duty/supervision schedule. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to improving our practices.

We are looking for volunteers to help increase our ability to serve our Raiders. If you are interested, please reach out to our CIS Coordinators, Mr. Ricardo Lomeli and Ms. Claudia Ortega, to let them know. They can guide you through our district's process and get you started. Specifically, we need additional assistance in the following areas:

* crossing guard duty

* assistance with copies/materials delivery for teachers

* lunchtime monitoring

Cross Guards/Lunch Monitors are paid part-time positions. If you are interested, please let us know.

Again, thank you for an amazing week of school. What makes us so special is our entire Raider commUNITY working together towards the goal of providing a great experience for our Raiders. We thank you for your trust, collaboration, feedback, and partnership in making it a daily reality for us to ensure that our #RaidersRiseUp!

Socio-economic Information Form

As in years past, every Ysleta ISD student will receive free breakfast at the campus. Your child will also automatically receive free lunch meals this year, as he/she attends one of the 42 schools in our district that participate in the Community Eligibility Program (CEP) of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

At CEP schools, parents are NOT required to fill out a meal application. Instead, we ask that you complete our Socioeconomic Information Form (SIF), which serves a very important purpose: It helps determine whether your child’s school will receive Title I federal funds, which can be used to pay for programs or supplies to support academics, such as Chromebooks and school tutors. Title I funding is critical for all Ysleta ISD schools!

To complete the SIF, please make sure to visit MyStudentPortal at https://sif.yisd.net

as soon as possible! The final date for you to complete and submit the SIF online is Wednesday, Sept. 28.

If you have children attending different CEP schools, a SIF must be completed for each child’s school. If you also have a child at a non-CEP school, you will receive an additional letter with instructions from our Child Nutrition Services Department.

If you have questions or need assistance in filling out the SIF, please feel free to reach out to us by calling (915) 434-4300.
