2023 Nevada Moves Day/2023 Día de Nevada se Mueve

Nevada Moves Day is a statewide event celebrating the benefits of walking and bicycling to school. Nevada Moves Day was celebrated on March 22 this year. Fifteen CCSD schools participated and encouraged their student to bike and roll to school. Students and family members from Eisenberg participated in a walking parade accompanied by the LVMPD volunteer police department, CCSD K-9 Police, and McGruff, the crime dog.


Save the date! Next year, Nevada Moves Day will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024.


Nevada Moves Day es un evento estatal que celebra los beneficios de caminar y andar en bicicleta a la escuela. Nevada Moves Day se celebró el 22 de marzo de este año. Quince escuelas de CCSD participaron y alentaron a sus estudiantes a ir en bicicleta a la escuela. ¡Muchas gracias a la Escuela Primaria Eisenberg por organizar el evento de este año! Los estudiantes y familiares de Eisenberg participaron en un desfile a pie acompañados por el departamento de policía voluntario de LVMPD, la policía CCSD K-9 y McGruff, el perro del crimen.

Kay Carl Elementary School Bike Rodeo/Rodeo de Bicicletas de la Escuela Primaria Kay Carl

Kay Carl hosted a bike rodeo for its students and for Cub Scout Troop 679 on April 1, 2023. The students learned bike skills to help them become safer cyclists. A mobile repair was available to make basic bicycle repairs. The Regional Transportation Corp. (RTC) attended and brought their mobile crosswalk, where students learned how to use a crosswalk and cross the street safely as a pedestrian or cyclists. A big thank you goes out to all involved and the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue for their presence.



Kay Carl organizó un rodeo de bicicletas para sus estudiantes y para la Tropa Cub Scout 679 el 1 de abril de 2023. Los estudiantes aprendieron habilidades para andar en bicicleta para ayudarlos a convertirse en ciclistas más seguros. Una reparación móvil estaba disponible para hacer reparaciones básicas de bicicletas. El Regional Transportation Corp. (RTC) estuvo presente y trajo su cruce de peatones móvil donde los estudiantes aprendieron cómo usar un cruce de peatones y cruzar la calle de manera segura como peatones o ciclistas. Un gran agradecimiento a todos los involucrados y al Departamento de Bomberos y Rescate de Las Vegas por su presencia.

Cub Scout Bike Rodeo/Rodeo de Bicicletas de Cub Scout

A big thank you goes out to Abston ES for hosting the Troop 737 Cubscout Bike Rodeo. Parents and students had a wonderful time sharpening their bicycle skills while listening to various fun tunes and enjoying wonderful energy-boosting snacks. One lucky student was the recipient of a bicycle and helmet, and another was the recipient of a scooter and helmet in a prize drawing.

Thank you to RTC for bringing their mobile crosswalk for students to practice safe crosswalk practices.


Un gran agradecimiento a Abston por organizar el rodeo de bicicletas Troop 737 Cubscout. Los padres y los estudiantes se divirtieron mucho afinando sus habilidades con la bicicleta mientras escuchaban varias melodías divertidas y disfrutaban de maravillosos refrigerios que aumentaron la energía. Un afortunado estudiante recibió una bicicleta y un casco, y otro recibió un scooter y un casco en un sorteo de premios. Gracias a RTC por traer su cruce de peatones móvil para que los estudiantes practiquen hábitos seguros al cruzar la calle.

Bike and Roll to School Day/El Día de Andar en Bicicleta y Caminar a la Escuela

Fifteen CCSD schools participated in Bike and Roll to School Day on May 3, 2023.

Thank you Kitty Ward Elementary School for hosting this year's event. Over 200 students and community members were in attendance. The ride started at Teton Trails Park and concluded at Kitty Ward ES. Students were given drawstring backpacks filled with fun safety incentives. Helmets were given to students that did not have them. The CCSD K-9 Unit, Safe Routes to School, and the City of Las Vegas helped to ensure a safe cycling route for all.


Quince escuelas participaron en Bike and Roll to School Day el 3 de mayo de 2023.

Gracias a la Escuela Primaria Kitty Ward por organizar el evento de este año. Asistieron más de 200 estudiantes y miembros de la comunidad. El viaje comenzó en Teton Trails Park y concluyó en Kitty Ward ES. Los estudiantes recibieron mochilas llenas de cosas divertidas y cascos a los estudiantes que no los tenían. Gracias CCSDPD por garantizar una ruta segura.

End of Year Celebration/Celebración de Fin de Año

Each year, Safe Routes to School (SRTS) organizes a celebration thanking our hard-working Champions and partners for their dedication to our students. SRTS staff handed out awards and incentives to our schools that have been placed in the Achievement Level Program (ALP). SRTS recognized 17 schools that placed on the bronze level, 5 schools placed on the silver level, 1 school placed on gold, and 5 schools placed on platinum. Congratulations go out to those 28 schools and their Champions.



Cada año, Rutas Seguras a la Escuela organiza una celebración para agradecer a nuestros campeones y socios trabajadores por su dedicación a nuestros estudiantes. El personal de Rutas Seguras a la Escuela entregó premios e incentivos a nuestras escuelas que han sido colocadas en el Programa de Nivel de Logro (ALP). Reconocimos 17 escuelas que se ubicaron en el nivel de bronce, 5 escuelas que se ubicaron en el nivel de plata, 1 escuela que se ubicó en el nivel de oro y 5 escuelas que se ubicaron en el nivel de platino. Felicitaciones a esas 28 escuelas y sus campeones.

If you have children, or know someone who does, this is a great discount! You get admission to Cowabunga Bay, Aviators, Rex Center, Sea Quest Aquarium, The Children's Museum, and more! For every pass sold, CCSD Safe Routes to School will receive $5.00 to support our schools by educating them on bike and pedestrian safety. We also incentivize teachers and students to assist with academic achievement and chronic absenteeism.

CCSD Safe Routes to School (CCSD RUTAS SEGURAS A LA ESCUELA)
The Clark County School District SRTS program is federally funded through the Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and is supported by many community partners. SRTS activities include school and community workshops that facilitate the development of SRTS plans unique to each school, bicycle and pedestrian safety events and assemblies, safety curriculum supports for K-12, and more!
