From Mr. Merrick
Dear St. Jerome Families,
Praise God for the beautiful weather this week!
We congratulate our Confirmation class from St. Jerome School who received the Sacrament of Confirmation this past Thursday from Bishop Fitzgerald: Kyle Allmond, Hailey Bradley, Basia Brady, Camryn Brescia, Olivia Czapla, Alessandro Damico, Samantha DeOliveira, Alessandro Echeverri, Colin Everly, Isabella Jenkins, Peyton Jerdan, Esther Kamara, Collin Kelly, Jeffrey Kolakowski, Adrian Manzur, Joseph McNally, Gavin Moore, Jamie O'Donnell, Stephen Palinkas, Emma Parkinson, Daniel Poper Jake Printz, Marco Reyes-Urban, Saul Santiago, Andrew Sharamatew, Daniel Silva, Meghan Stewart, and Elijah Twegby. Please keep them and their classmates from our PREP program in your prayers as they continue their faith journey. Thank you to Mrs. Schmidt, Mrs. Collins, and Mrs. Fiatoa for all that they did in preparing our students.
We also greatly appreciate our Confirmation altar servers who were praised by Bishop Fitzgerald for how well they were prepared: Lucas Barber, Brynn Crooks, Sean Elitz, Chris Kelly, Joe Kelly, Emma Wimsey, & Sophie Wimsey.
Thank you to our Home and School Association for providing popcorn while the students watched Dr. Seuss on the Loose this past Thursday. It was a nice treat before dismissal on the half day.
Terra Nova testing for 3rd-8th grades begins on Friday and continues next week; K-2nd begin on Monday. These tests are one measure of our students' progress and are used to help us teach to our students' individual strengths and weaknesses. Together with other types of assessment (classroom tests, assignments, and teacher observations), we also use this data for curriculum planning. Please make sure the students are prepared with #2 pencils. The students should also aim to get a good night's sleep, eat a good breakfast, and be on time for school.
Any virtual students who have not responded about Terra Nova, please fill out the Google Form here so that we have enough testing materials and classrooms. Information about testing for virtual students is also on the form, and I will send out a reminder email this weekend.
Our 4th & 5th grade cohorts will take their Terra Nova tests the week of March 22nd.
The Second Trimester ends this Friday, March 12th. Report Cards will be posted to OptionC next Friday, March 19th.
Please remember to return your Continuous Enrollment Form as soon as possible. Families whose students are fully virtual are welcome to pick a form up in the school office or print it out and scan/email it back to Mrs. Bacanskas. If you have any new siblings enrolling at St. Jerome School, please add them to the continuous enrollment form. We will then send you any addition forms that need to be for new siblings.
Have a great rest of the week; St. Jerome, pray for us!
Welcome, Hadley Marie Stevens!
