Principal's Update
Staff Professional Development
On Monday, the Hilton staff will spend the day increasing our knowledge of teaching and learning. The morning will be focused on strategies to developing personalized learning for all students through engagement in five key areas: Knowing our students; knowing ourselves; knowing our curriculum, our assets and collegial relationships.
In the afternoon, teachers will join virtual breakout sessions to extend their learning in a number of different areas. They include:
-Student Social-Emotional Support
-Thinking Routines and Visible Thinking Strategies for the Classroom
-Fiction and Non-Fiction Literature for Elementary Students
-Conscious Discipline Strategies
Parking Lot Safety
Safety is our number one priority - This is especially true during drop-off and pick-up
-No cell phone use in the parking lot or lines leading into the parking lot.
-Drive slowly and look forward when moving.
-Observe lowered speed limit on Hilton Road leading up to the school.
Expediting the Pick-up and Drop-Off Process - Getting you in and out quickly
K-2 drop-Off Area - Be sure to pull all the way down so we can unload an entire row of cars.
3-4 drop-Off Area - One car past the crosswalk and two-three cars behind the crosswalk can unload.
Teach your children to look at the eyes of the driver when using the crosswalk. If the driver isn't looking at you, they most likely don't know you are there.
Have a great weekend,
Jeff Eisele

Counselor Corner!
Happy New Year from your Elementary Counselor, Mrs. Fox! I hope you had a well rested, and memory filled, time with your loved ones. For the month of January we are taking time to further acknowledge and support that extra added stress this crazy year has brought us. We are diving into mindfulness, yoga, and other practices, that treat the mind, body, and soul. The goal of these lessons is to promote self-regulation and self-reflection in our young learners, as well as to practice a sense of peace and calm during our days.
Lets Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed at school.
More Resources: The Elementary Counseling Team also has the BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!
