Book Creation using Chromebooks at Cimarron
Mr. Matthew Loch found an engaging way to have students in his 8th grade Social Studies class learn about history. When learning about a new topic, Mr. Loch has the students research using their textbooks and other primary and secondary sources. Students then create a book about the topic by using a website called StoryJumper. With the StoryJumper website, students are able to use their creativity to make the book using fonts, colors, pictures, and even add their voice narration. After creating the book, students turn in the assignment through Canvas by sharing the link, making it easy for Mr. Loch to grade. Take a look at a few examples below.
About the Project
Mission: Empowering all students to succeed in a
changing society.
Vision: Advancing excellence in everything we do!
Digital Conversion, simply put, is about learning and not about technology. The project will provide student mobile devices, digital content (curriculum, including textbooks), professional development, network infrastructure, and a Learning Management System. This project will provide our students with the experience, skills, confidence, and adaptability they will need to succeed in college and in the workforce.
