A pie chart is a kind of graph that is circular in shape and is divided into sectors or parts, each representing a part of the whole. Usually, sectors are represented in numerical data.
How Do I Read a Pie Chart?
Each portion of a pie chart is called a sector or a proportion of the whole. Usually the sectors are named as percentages. Look to the question being asked, then look to the graph's sectors. The sector with the greatest proportion to the whole is the greatest percentage of the whole. The smallest sector of the circle graph reveals the smallest percentage of the whole.
