Refugee Retention?
3rd-5th MAZE and CBRM Assessments:
It's that time of year again! MAZE and CBRM tests were placed in your mailbox this week. The Testing and data entry window is May 5th-June 1st. Please let me know if you have any questions about data entry or the testing of MAZE/ CBRM. Remember, students falling in the bottom 25th percentile on MAZE (National Norms) will need to be tested with CBRM (Fluency).
Thanks,
Leah

This is a ONE MEETING book club! How's that for efficient? Join us - if you have read the book or not , to talk about the impact of our refugees and how we can work together to best serve them. I still have copies of the book in the office. You are welcome to one- whether you are coming to the book study or not.
I will send out a separate email to ask for RSVPs so we know how much food to have.

2015 Doss Teacher Talent Show:
This is your official invitation to participate in the 2015 Doss Teacher Talent Show!
It will be on June 2 (Tuesday) at 2pm!
Mr. Hall has agreed to be our emcee again, and he's looking for a co-emcee. 1st Grade is already ahead so you better hurry to get your teams up and running! I'm sure Janna has something wonderful planned for us as well!
Don't forget, we also have the flash mob at the end of the show. I will take suggestions on the song, but so far it looks like the song will be: SHAKE IT OFF (Uptown Funk being not quite appropriate). Practice video will come in the next couple of weeks :)
Start sending in your act descriptions. We need about 10 acts to make the show. Here are some suggestions to get your creative juices flowing:
- Chubby Bunny
- Pop-Se-Ko
- Air Guitar
- Lip Sync Contest (a la Jimmy Kimmel)
- Moonlight Sonata played with glass bottles ... I will definitely sign up to play piano for this if anyone else wants to play the bottle part (needs at least 3)!
