Parent/Guardian - Teacher Conferences 11/2 & 11/17
Millis High School will be hosting parent/guardian conferences on two dates this year. Conferences can be done virtually through Google Meet, or in person, depending on parent/guardian preference. The dates and times for the conferences are as follows:
Wednesday, November 2: Parent conferences from 12:00-2:30pm (classes end at 10:55)
Thursday, November 17: Parent conferences from 6:00-8:00pm (regular school day for all students)
Parents can sign up for appointment slots with their students' teachers by accessing the link below and selecting the appointment slots on the above days/times. You simply select the teachers you would like to set up conferences with by clicking on their appointment link in the Google Sheet below, and then scroll through their appointment calendars to choose an available time that works for you on either November 2 or November 17. Once you select an appointment slot, you will be sent a Google Meet link for your conference meeting as the default. If you would prefer to meet in person with the teacher, please send an email to that teacher or note that in your conference sign-up (email addresses are listed on the document). If you do not send an email requesting an in-person meeting, the teacher will assume you are meeting on Google Meet.
Appointment slots are 10 minutes long and it is important that parents/guardians are on time for their conferences, as once the 10 minute appointment is up, the teacher will be moving to their next virtual or in-person conference.
As always, it is important that parents/guardians and teachers communicate about the academic, social and emotional well being and progress of individual students. We hope many of our parents will be able to meet with their students' teachers. Please use the link below to set up your appointments. If for some reason you are having a difficult time selecting an appointment slot, please email the teacher directly to set up an appointment time.
Attention Parents
If you have multiple children you must submit for each. The picture below shows the email address that you need to find in your inbox. The link provided in the email is generated exclusively for your student. If you did not receive an email, please contact jdavies@millisschools.org for a new link.

Homecoming Rally
Snaps of Spirit Week
This week was Homecoming Spirit Week and a little rain didn't stop the fun. The Student Council organized lunch time games, bringing back some old school favorites like egg toss, spike-ball, donut on string and bobbing for apples. Each class played DJ of the Day with the staff selecting their own favorite songs on Wednesday. Students wore their PJs to school, celebrated the USA, sported their favorite Hawaiian look, put on their 'Groutfits' (head to toe gray outfits...we had to look it up, too!), wore their green bandanas to support The Kyle Cares Foundation and support mental health, and ended the week with a Senior Breakfast, Millis Pride Day and the All-School Homecoming Rally. A special thank you to Mrs. Cheney and Mrs. Alan for all their help in organizing a great week of activities!

Students in Mr. Panciocco’s Freshman Spanish Immersion I class presented their ‘Dream House’ Projects this week. The class designed their houses using applications such as Roblox, Minecraft, HomeByMe, and Planner 5d to make them as realistic as possible. It was a great success, and a wonderful way for the student to practice the Spanish writing and vocabulary skills, while tackling a fun project!!
MERIT Haunted Hayride
Students in ChemClub (magic pumpkins and vomiting pumpkins), Terpsichore (ghost dancers), the HS Girls Soccer Team (zombie cow folk), LEOS (zombie docs) and a freshman group (the Purge) participated in the MERIT Haunted Hayride. Active Minds
Throughout the Millis High School community, students have been extremely active in raising awareness about mental health. Through the newfound organization, Active Minds, we have been able to gain access to a lot of resources on how to help students, or anyone in need, with their mental health struggles.
This week, the organization has put on a spirit week, with a new theme each day. Students have been creating posters, making announcements, and posting positive quotes on social media, as well as lockers in the school. The members also have been hosting a table outside of the cafeteria with pamphlets on how to help someone in need, stickers, and green bandanas for sale to signify mental health support.
Lastly, as the homecoming events start up, the group has taken it upon themselves to get the word out about wearing green at the events. For the homecoming football game, it is encouraged to wear green accessories. There will be an announcement about Active Minds and all that they do, as well as a table with green bandanas for sale to get members of the Millis community involved in this effort. Thank you!

Environmental Action Club
We have a new club at Millis High School called Environmental Action. Sophomores Isabella Briones and Addison Loer came together to plan the club this summer, and the group will be focused on educating, fundraising, and taking action on environmental issues. Mr. Alconada is serving as their club advisor.
As they begin to raise awareness around environmental issues, here's one little tip we can all put into practice to make a difference. When you are waiting in the car with your children at the bus stop, make a commitment not to idle your car when there is no need for heat or air conditioning. If you think about the number of cars waiting with students at the bus stop on a daily basis, if everyone jumps on board to tackle this small issue, that's a lot of time the environment can breathe a little bit better without car exhaust.
