Weekly Update March 31st - April 4th

Monday, March 31st (3:30-5:00)

Lesson: Full of Feeling

In this lesson we will be identifying and recognizing different emotions that we may feel throughout the week. We will discuss how these emotions are often expressed as well as healthy ways of coping with these emotions. In this lesson we will play a game that helps the girls learn some helpful relaxation techniques and explore the importance of listening to our inner voices.

Questions to think about:

"What are some relaxation techniques that you learned?"

"When you are really upset about something, what are some positive ways you can deal with it?"

Thursday, April 3rd (3:30-5:00)

Lesson: Celebrating Gratitude

This lesson aims to introduce the concept that seeking gratitude for our circumstances is a choice. It will provide the girls with an understanding that seeking gratitude provides us with a positive perspective on our current set of circumstances and as a means to deal with stressors and possible depression, and/or anxiety in life.

Questions to think about:

"What are some things you are grateful for?"

"How can turning into an attitude of gratitude change your mood?"

"What does it mean to see the glass as half full rather than half empty?"
