Rolling Plains

Rolling Plains

Climate- The Climate in the rolling plains is very hot and dry with a regular temperature of 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Annual rainfall ranges is from 22 inches to 30 inches.

Where it is found- The rolling plains is found in the top right of Texas, also known as the Panhandle of Texas

Organisms in Rolling plains- Road Runners, deer, foxes, prairie dogs, Owls, mice, hawks, and badgers.

High Plains

Climate-Semi-Arid hot with hot summers and mild winters. Temperatures in the high plains change from southeast to northwest. Annual rainfall is 17-22 inches.

Where it is found-The High Plains are located at the top right of Texas in the Panhandle just like the Rolling Plains

Organisms in High Plains- Deer, Wild Turkeys, Mountain lion, Coyote, Prairie Dogs, jackrabbit, and burrowing owl.

Trans Pecos

Climate- Trans Peco is semi arid/arid which results in hot, dry, humid, and limited to water sources. The rainfall usually goes around 15 inches in the summers.

Where it is found-The Trans Peco is found on the western side of Texas and also known as the Big Bend Region of Texas.

Organisms found in Trans Peco-Antelopes, Bunnies, Deer, Birds, Bighorn sheep, Fish, Rodents, Reptiles, and Black Bears

South Brush Country

Climate-Very moist and wet. Contains a lot of plants and water precipitation. Usually temperatures range in the 60's.

Where it is from-South Brush Country-the South Brush Country is from the South area of Texas and is from the South Texas Plains area of Texas.

Organisms From South Brush Country-Spotted ocelots, Birds, Tortoises, Jackrabbits, Javelina, Texas horned lizard.

Edwards Plateau

Climate-High temperatures go as high as 100 degrees and lows go to about 60 degrees.

Receives bout 34 inches of rainfall annually.

Where it is from- The Edward Plateau is from the mid region of Texas, It is from the areas known as the Hill Countries.

Organisms Found in the Edwards Plateau-Tarantulas, Pecan, Black Willow, Water PennyWorth, Buffalo grass, etc.

Piney Woods

Climate-Very temperate and humid during the days. Summer temperatures go for about 70-90 degrees F while Winter goes for about 40-45 degrees F. Average rainfall is 36 inches.

Where it is from-The piney woods are located in the East region of texas and is also located in the PineyWoods region of the map.

Organisms in the PineyWoods- Squirrels, Rabbits, Birds, and other rodents.

Black land Prairie

Climate-26-40 inches of rain per year 41 inches average.

Where it is from- Western middle area of Texas and is from the Prairies and lakes area of Texas.

Organisms in the Oak Woods And Prairies-Pecan, buckeyes,Burr oak,Hawks,Porcupines,Raccoons,Beavers,etc.

Gulf Prairies and Marshes

Climate-Annual rainfall is about 30-50 inches each year. Very wet and grassy

Where it is from-The Gulf Prairies and Marshes are from the southwestern part of Texas. Also known as the gulf coast of Texas.

Organisms in the Gulf Prairies and Marshes-Alligator,Otters,Bull frogs,Coyotes, Muskrats,and many other rodents
