SUNRISE RIVER SCHOOL
Item/technology/medicine retrieval and general information
Dear Families,
I hope this email finds your family well. Know that we are thinking of you and what your family may be experiencing. These are incredibly challenging times on so many levels. As a school team, we are doing our best to put ourselves in your shoes. We are attempting to have realistic expectations for students, parents, families and for ourselves. Further, as we have been living in this frequently changing environment, we realize that things in your family may also be changing on a daily basis.
Please continue to communicate with school staff as things happen of which we need to be aware. We also want to thank you for your support during the planning period for distance learning the governor directed for all schools. We thank you for your positive thoughts and wishes, for your offers of support and for your acknowledgement of the effort all our staff are making to plan for distance learning if so directed by Governor Walz. We thank you for the pictures you’ve shared with us of your kids, for completing surveys and sharing needed information, and for the patience and grace you’ve shown us and one another as we navigate this new situation together!

Student Material (desk and locker) Pick Up Plan
In continued efforts to ensure families have the resources they need for distance learning at home, on Thursday, March 26 and Friday, March 27 parents can pick up belongings left at school. Materials have been identified by student name and homeroom teacher and placed in a large plastic bag with a name tag attached.
When you come to pick up materials, please check in with the staff member outside the front parking lot and provide the name of the student (s) for whom you are picking up. That adult will radio in and another adult will come out door #2 with your student’s items. Please pull up as far as you can.
If you prefer to park in the lot, you may do that, check in with staff at Door #2 and let them know your child’s name and they will give you your student’s items.
In an effort to manage traffic flow and mitigate the number of people coming to the building at one time we are offering the following schedule. We request that everyone remain in their vehicle throughout the pick-up process.
Students whose last names begin with letters: A - G 9:00 - 10:30 am
Students whose last names begin with letters: H - M 10:30 - noon
Students whose last names begin with letters: N - S Noon - 1:30 pm
Students whose last names begin with letters: T - Z 1:30 - 3:00 pm
Unable to make your assigned time 3:00 - 4:30 pm
Technology Distribution Plan
Families who completed the technology survey and indicated that they have no devices at home but do have internet access have been contacted and will be issued a device to be used by children in the family. If you have made arrangements to receive a device, it will be available for pick up at the following assigned times on Thursday, March 26, and Friday, March 27. If you did not complete a survey yet, you can do so here. We continue to identify strategies to support families without internet access at home.

Childcare Services
Childcare services, including transportation will be provided from 7:00 am - 3:00 pm for students of emergency workers, school staff and other essential workers as defined by Governor Walz’s Executive Order free of charge. In order to ensure the safety of the children and staff in the program, attending children's temperatures will be taken upon arrival and again at midday by school district nurses.
If a child in school district care is found to have a fever or be ill, parents/guardians will be contacted immediately and will be expected to pick up their children as soon as possible. Students will be immediately separated from other students while awaiting pick up.
If you have questions if you qualify or interested in learning more about access to School Age Care services please contact Youth Connections at 651-674-1029 or click here for more information.
