Information from Johnny
If you decide to do the OSHA training and are accepted, NEISD CTE will pay for your travel needs, only after submitting a professional travel request. You will also have an additional commitment to provide training to CTE students across the district and not just to your campus or program.
OSHA Training Available
The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) OSHA Training Institute Education Center will provide an opportunity for 40 Texas CTE teachers to become authorized trainers for the OSHA General Industry Outreach Program. There will be no cost for the training itself, but teachers/districts are responsible for travel, lodging, meals, etc.
As an Authorized Trainer for General Industry, teachers become eligible to conduct OSHA 10-hour General Industry training for students and secure OSHA 10-hour General Industry cards for the students who qualify.
The classes are scheduled as follows:
- OSHA511 OSHA for General Industry
- June 7-10, 2016
- OSHA501 Trainer Course for General Industry
- June 21-24, 2016
- June 28-July 1, 2016
All classes will be conducted at the TEEX Center at 15515 Interstate 20, Mesquite, Texas and you must attend both to be a trainer.
