LMS STUDENT WELLNESS and PTA Walk-a-Thon!
As part of a school-wide student wellness event, we have a Walk-A-Thon on April 13th and 14th during Health and PE classes. This is done over two days so all students are involved, A day and B day. Students will also be taking a form home over the break to collect donations for their laps as a fundraiser.
Here is how it will work:
1. Students arrive to class, take attendance
2. Head to the track
3. Students will walk laps around the track for about 30 minutes
4. Teachers and PTA volunteers will hand the students Cat Cash for each lap as it is completed
5. At 30 minutes the walk ends (Mr. Grow will provide the megaphone to call students in)
6. At the end of the walk students will be offered an ice pop/water provided by the PTA
7. Students return to the building for class for the remaining time.
8. After returning to the building, students write their names on the Cat Cash.
9. Students can choose to keep their Cat Cash or drop it in a bin to be entered in a raffle to win prizes donated by the PTA.
TESTING SEASON IS HERE!
Spring Pictures are April 27th! (Forms will come home after break)
WELLNESS UPDATE
A Message from the School Nurse
Attention all 6th Graders and Parents:
The state of Maryland requires that all children be current on their immunizations. Before your child enters the 7th grade they are required to have updated Tdap and MCV vaccines (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis and Meningitis). Please check with your child’s doctor to make sure that they are up to date on all of their vaccines and provide proof of their vaccines to the school nurse. Per Maryland state law, your child will be excluded from school once they start their 7th grade year if we do not have proof of their vaccinations.
Thanks, LMS School Health Room Staff
