Our treat from Mrs. Ginopolis
LO grad Anthony Grupido
Kindness Week
A culminating activity for Kindness Week was a performance and motivational speech by magician Anthony Grupido.
Today, 1 in 5 children experience a behavioral health crisis. Unfortunately, when symptoms go unnoticed or untreated, these challenges become much more difficult to overcome and can impact the health of a child long-term. Of the children who suffer, fewer than 20 percent ever receive proper treatment. But, given the right tools, every child can be on the path towards a happier healthier future.
Improving the mental health of children and families is a focus area for the Children’s Hospital of Michigan Foundation and we are pleased to announce that thanks to the generosity of the Foundation, prominent speaker, Anthony Grupido will be presenting his Magic of Hope Presentation to our students. Through his presentation Anthony will use magic to share his experiences about overcoming depression and being a Suicide Attempt Survivor using Positive Coping Skills. He will also share his advice about dealing with stress, talking about mental health, and where to go if you need effective help.

Positivity Project - Love
Love means that you value close relationships with others and being close to people. The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships. When one person loves another person, that person: comforts and makes the other feel safe; sacrifices on the other’s behalf; supports the other during struggles; and places the other’s needs ahead of his/her own. If you love a person, that person makes you feel safe and secure. You can be yourself with that person. You miss that person when he/she is not around.
Next week is a make up week so we will be catching up on Prudence.
