HTV 8 - EPISODE 2 (SPRING BREAK)

Registration and Open House

We are very excited to share our 2021-22 registration guide. Please take some time to go through the options so that you are ready to rank your options in early April. All registrations will be done through the PARENT PORTAL at home so that families are aware of selections and able to choose the best fit options.

We will do our very best to accommodate all requests but sometimes there are scheduling challenges where options run at the same time.

We create our offerings based on your selections, please make sure you are choosing carefully the options that you want to be in. Based on interest, options may or may not be able to run.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact the main office.

We will be hosting a virtual open house for all of our incoming students (in all grades) on April 21st at 6 pm. We realize that this will be a different experience but we hope to showcase all of the amazing things happening at F.R. Haythorne.

HONOURS APPLICATION PROCESS 2021-22

On Monday, March 22, students who have applied for the honours program at FR Haythorne will have a digital application form loaded into their PowerSchool account.

This form will require both student and parent/guardian input.

Students will be required to sign in with their own PowerSchool account to fill in the student portion of the form.

Parents will then need to sign in through the parent portal to complete the parent portion of the form.

This is a very quick process and should not take more than 5 minutes.

This will also include information on the teacher endorsement. Core teachers will be completing this portion for each applicant.

If the application form DID NOT show up on your PowerSchool account please contact the main office ASAP. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY APRIL 6, 2021.

Learning & being curious together at FRH - The Seven Sacred Teachings

Over the last two weeks we introduced you to the idea of the Seven Sacred Teachings which have come out of many Indigenous communities. While many of these communities use the Seven Sacred Teachings or the Grandfather teachings as a way to pass on culture & important characteristics, not all do.

This week, we’d like to introduce the buffalo who teaches us respect and the notion of being honoured. Indigenous communities had a strong connection with the buffalo and worked hard to ensure their survival as the buffalo provided everything necessary to maintain their way of life. By respecting the animal it ensured survival for people living across Turtle Island.
