Staffing Update

I am pleased to welcome Jared Webb to the staff of JSM for the remainder of this school year. He is a recent B.Ed grad, but he also has a Bachelor of Psychology degree and a Master's degree in International Relations and Development Studies. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from both bachelors programs through the Canadian University College. Last spring, Jared worked at Iron Ridge as an educational assistant. He has a background with Bosko Homes in Ponoka - as both a child care worker and a program manager - so he has a great deal of experience working with behaviour management. While completing his B.Ed., he worked with Shauna Wessner as a practicum student in her grade two classroom at Ponoka Elementary. His most recent practicum was completed at Mecca Glen School, so he is "Wolf Creek trained" and comes very highly recommended by everyone who has worked with him.

Student Leds

This is an exciting week for our students; thank you so, so much for all your preparation for this week.

Please send your schedules to Sophie on Monday. We will use them to figure out meals for this week. Thanks! :)

Student Led Agendas

Thank you to those who handed in their agendas already. If you have not already done so, please be sure to run yours by me before photocopying class sets.

Superintendency Team Meeting

Darin, Christine and I attended a meeting at division office on Friday. We were given a little more information regarding the budget for next year, but, in the interest of avoiding confusion, we are still not supposed to share any details, as there are still several unanswered questions. Having said that, Larry plans to send out "talking points" this week, so all administrators share the same information with staff in the same way.

As well, we should find out our ACOL funding on Tuesday. If we didn't have student leds this week, we would finally be able to have our staff meeting. Our schedule on Friday is very full, and many staff members won't be in attendance, so we can't have it that day.

I will update you when I get Larry's talking points. Maybe I will send them out to you for now, and we will meet next week...
