Calculating taxes, tips, and mark ups
Taxes, tips, and mark ups are calculated. Find a certain percent of a number and then adding it to the original number. It is the financial addition to a bill.
Calculating Discount
Discount is calculated by finding a percent of a number and then subtracting it from the original amount. The discount is the amount that is saved on a purchase.
Calculating commission
Commission is the amount of money someone makes off of a sale. Little Caesars sign spinners and, car sales men are examples of people who make a commission. It is calculated by finding the percent of a number.

KOHL'S
My example of taxes and tips begins at my favorite place to shop, At Kohls.
KOHL'S CLOTHS
I spent 20.00 on cloths at Kohl's. My tax was 1.35 which would be 135 % of tax. Overall my total amount for my cloths was, 21.35.
CALCULATOR
I calculated my tax by, first I multiplied my total cost by my the 6.75 % of tax in summit county Which converts to .0675 and I got the answer 1.35 as my tax, which converts to 135 % of tax. Last I added my 20.00 to the amount. Overall my total amount was 21.35 and the tax was 1.35.
