Edgerton High School Grading and Reporting
For the past three years our teachers have been thoughtfully thinking about ways we can motivate students to engage in their learning in bold new ways. Throughout the year we will share with you our progress through this newsletter.
Citizenship Grades
In Edgerton we believe that life skills and behaviors are critically important in the overall development of our students. In elementary school, your student(s) received grades in "Characteristics of a Successful Learner" and in middle school your student received "Character Grades" for each course they participated in. Starting this year, we want to carry forward this tradition of transparent communication with parents and caregivers. Students' life skills and behaviors will be reported as "Citizenship Grades" in grades 9-12.
You will receive Citizenship Grades monthly via Infinite Campus as a progress report. At semester, a summative Citizenship Grade will be published on students' report cards. We expect our students to:
Be Respectful
- Care for school and personal property
- Cooperate
- Support others in the classroom
- Use appropriate and inclusive language
- Complete coursework in a timely manner
- Come prepared with materials for class
- Arrive on time
- Engage actively
- Use technology, class materials and equipment appropriately
