Thank you for being so helpful and for being the best teammates ever. Kudos to Mrs. Metzger and Ms. Lewis for working so hard helping our students everyday. Macy Henry
~Kudos to Karen Lewis—she is juggling so many responsibilities and learning on the go, we know how difficult that is, and we are grateful for you! A huge THANKS to Brooke Martinette and Nancy Lambert for helping me plan and organize a breakout box lesson on Digital Citizenship—I appreciate your patience as I learn!! Thank you to Nancy Kurz for helping me distribute Beach Bags when I am not able, Barb Iman for always collaborating with me on students who hurt both inside and out, and to Michele Flynn for scheduling all our meetings and dealing with parents so compassionately—we have the best office staff around! Lisa Lee
~Great job to Corradi, Pezzela, Cole, Strohsahl, Titsis, Twine who came to play on Thursday for our first volleyball game. It is going to be a fun season playing with all you all-stars and to those of us playing Friday good luck but more importantly lets have some fun. Cassidy

Snow Make-up Plan
The makeup plan includes:
· Feb. 20 (Presidents’ Day) will make up time lost Jan. 9
· March 8 (originally designated as a professional learning day for staff) will be a makeup day for Jan. 10
· Jan. 11 will not be made up by students or 12-month employees who worked Jan. 11; missed time for all other employees will be made up through a flexible schedule or use of leave.
Should additional days be missed due to inclement weather, time will be made up by adding minutes to the school day and/or other means as designated by the Superintendent.
PLEASE NOTE: A memo from the Department of Human Resources and the Department of Budget and Finance will be sent to all staff next week with additional guidance about employee makeup time.
Student Teacher
ACCESS for ESL Testing
ACCESS testing for our ESL students will begin on Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. Since testing will take place in the computer lab, Maker Space will be moved to two locations near the front of the building. One space will be by Mr. Ellis at the Security Desk and the other is further down by the library but away from the computer lab. Students must travel at a level 0 throughout the building on their way to Maker Space. While working at the Maker Space stations students will have to maintain their voices at a level 1 (whisper-like). If a student does not follow these rules they will not be allowed to participate in Maker Space. This will allow our students to enjoy and look forward to their time in Maker Space rather than cancelling for the whole week. Any reinforcement or support you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Classroom Display Evaluation
Coaches Begin to Develop the TES Playbook
Thank you for welcoming the coaches into your classrooms! Part of the work of the coaches will be to develop a Playbook. This Playbook will include strategies that, when implemented consistently from classroom to classroom, will optimize student learning.
The first item in our Playbook is a focus on the learning target via the "I can" statements.
Here are the learning target expectations:
- The "I can" statement serves as the learning target and the learning target matches the instruction
- The "I can" statements should be written large enough to be read from anywhere in the room
- There should be an "I can" for all subjects and written in student friendly words
- The "I can" is posted at the small group table
- The small group table "I can" matches the posted whole group "I can"
