FAC Weekly Update
February 25, 2022
Good morning, Fine Arts Center Family
We hope you had a wonderful week! Lots of exciting goings-on at the FAC right now. We had a wonderful Jazz Concert last night, and have some fantastic events coming up on the event calendar. Plus, an announcement below regarding Anti-Prom that should make our students very happy. :-)
Be sure to mark your calendar with our upcoming performances. We want students (and parents) from all areas to actively support their fellow FAC students and our guest artists - whether it is in-person or via live stream. Part of a strong school culture is an actively supportive audience for all school-based performances. Hope to see you out at one or more of the numerous events this spring!
Here is the latest from the halls of the Fine Arts Center...
This Week's Student Leadership Lesson
“The most pernicious aspect of procrastination is that it can become a habit. We don't just put off our lives today; we put them off till our deathbed.
Never forget: This very moment, we can change our lives. There never was a moment, and never will be, when we are without the power to alter our destiny. This second we can turn the tables on resistance.
This second, we can sit down and do our work.”

Summer Arts Intensives - Request for Financial Support
Each year, we have a number of current FAC students who choose to spend their summer months expanding their artistic horizons at a summer arts intensive program. These programs can be located locally or across the nation - for more information on recommended programs, please have your child speak with their FAC Instructor.
The FAC Partners will once again offer financial assistance to students in grades 9-11 who have been accepted into Summer Intensive Programs for their area of study at the FAC. Students who apply for financial assistance must be committed to attending the FAC next year. Recipients will be chosen first by financial need (as determined by P.I.P. status) and then by merit (Grade Point Average), with teacher input into the student's performance also being a factor. You will need to provide proof of acceptance into the program/camp (email or hard copy) along with the submission of the form. The form is due Friday, April 8, 2022, and can be accessed at the following link - https://forms.gle/wjV1Gi2DmGQEfKgJ9.
Please note - the form should be completed by the student via their GCS Google Account. Call or email us with any questions.
