The first month and a half of school has flown by. Thank you for your support in the reopening of school. While I know this time has been stressful for everyone we have really worked together to support the children and staff back into the classroom. Please remember that all must wear masks when on campus.
In September, we completed our annual Walk-a-thon in our PE classes. Thank you to Mrs. Phillips and Mr. Casem for all your hard work on organizing the event. Thank you to the families who have donated. If you have not donated to your classroom, you still have time! Please send your donations with your child, bring to the office, or donate on our website.
October is an exciting month for students. More information will be coming out soon regarding Fall events from the school and PTA. Please join me on Wednesday, October 6th for International Walk and Roll to School Day. More information can be found below.

Celebrate International Walk and Roll to School Day on October 6th!
Join Harvey Green for International Walk and Roll to School Day! We will celebrate our school spirit, our health, and the environment with the Alameda County Safe Routes to Schools program. We encourage you to celebrate safely and to follow local health guidelines.
With your family and friends, you can participate by taking a walk, or riding a bike, skateboard, or scooter to school on Wednesday, October 6th.
We look forward to walking and rolling with you!
Happy Fall Harvey Green,
October is national Bullying Prevention month and I will be visiting classrooms to present on this topic, what it is and how to be an upstander. We want our students to feel safe and also help others feel safe at school. If you're interested in continuing the conversation at home around anti-bullying, please visit this info page that shares great tips! This month, I will also be presenting a lesson on the Zones of Regulation. Throughout the year, your students will learn what "Zones" are, coping strategies, and more! Check in with your student and have them share what they've learned so far :) If you have specific questions or would like to discuss a concern, please email me at email@example.com or call (510) 656-6438 ext. 41255.

PTA Reflections Contest
Explore the Arts and Express Yourself
National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.
Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
The 2021–2022 Reflections theme is I Will Change the World By…
Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.
Students participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), High School (Grades 9-12), Special Artist (All grades welcome).

We would like to thank our hard working teachers with some snacks for their staff room. Help us stock the staff room by purchasing an item off the wish list. Items will be sent directly to the school. The list will be ongoing, so if you can not participate at this moment there will be other opportunities to purchase items.
