Hampton Bays Middle School
Parent Express Bulletin #6
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!
I hope this week's PEX Bulletin finds your family safe and sound this blustery October weekend. This past week at school, we were thrilled to have our students for our first five-day week together. It's hard to believe it's already October, and we're excited for the month to come!
One of the "traditions" we started last year, in partnership with PTO, was sharing a snapshot of the highlights for the month. I invite you to click the following link, and enjoy viewing just some of the great memories from the month of September at Hampton Bays Middle School. I'm grateful to your children's teachers for inviting us into their classrooms. Making time to capture and share many of these moments also helps me to appreciate how our students are investing their time in class. At home, many of these photos can be used to start a conversation with your child. As a mom or dad, you may be pleasantly surprised at what you will learn.
Here is this month's installment of "We Are HBMS!"

October is also National Bullying Prevention Month. On behalf of your children's teachers and our entire middle school community, we look forward to working together each and every day of your child's middle school experience to support their success, academically, socially, and emotionally. We depend our parents as partners, to work together to make this happen. So please don't hesitate to reach out to any member of our Faculty or Administration. We're here for you and your child.
As always thanks for making the time to be an essential part of our school-home partnership!
Sincerely,
Mr. Schug

OCTOBER IS Bullying Prevention and Awareness Month in the Town of Southampton
According to the flyer from the Town of Southampton, "Parents will learn how to respond, act and cope with cyber-bullying situations, recognize cyber-bullying ‘red flags,’ create an action plan, speak with their child about bullying and share strategies for creating a safe enclave for their children online."
