Question Persuade Refer (Q.P.R.) Parent Training
The mission of Q.P.R. is to save lives and reduce suicidal behaviors by providing innovative, practical, and proven suicide prevention training. Much like CPR, an Emergency Medical Intervention. Q.P.R. is an Emergency Mental Health Intervention for persons with suicidal ideation.
Created in 1995, Q.P.R. is the abbreviation for Question, Persuade and Refer. The intent of the process is to identify and interrupt the crisis and direct the person to the proper care.
Once trained, class participants know how to recognize warning signs,
how to offer hope; and where to get help to save a life.
When: February 21, 2024 (Parent/Teacher Conference Night)
Time: 5:30 β 6:30 p.m.
Location: HUHS in the Drama Lecture Hall
Please contact Dr. Stacy Gahan, Director of Student Services to sign up if you are interested in attending at stacy.gahan@huhs.org or 262-670-3200 Ext. 4100.

Meet 1990 Graduate Jennifer Goforth
St. Kilian Catholic Church Middle School
During my 25-year career at General Motors, I am most proud of my contributions as Vehicle Line Director for the Spark EV and Vehicle Chief Engineer for the Bolt EV, Bolt EUV and Blazer EV.
Today, I am the Executive Director for Global Aftersales Engineering and Service Operations. I am thankful for the strong academic programs and teachers in Mathematics, English and Science at Hartford High School. I believe my foundational learnings prepared me for academic success in college. I also valued my experiences in forensics and athletics.
My academic advisor was instrumental in guiding me to an engineering career path and my experiences prepared me for a senior executive role at General Motors. Additionally, as a host family for foreign exchange students, I learned we are more similar than we are different. I maintain relationships with five of our foreign students and they inspired me to accept global leadership roles in my career (Germany, South Korea and China).
I attended Marquette University with a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. As well as Purdue University Master of Science Engineering.
I took advanced courses in mathematics, engineering and business. My high school core classes prepared me academically for college coursework. My high school electives in drafting and architecture prepared me for the hands-on engineering projects I did in my college studies. I felt I was fully prepared academically for success.
Advice I would like to give current students is to say yes to new experiences, especially those that make you a little uncomfortable. Those are your greatest opportunities to learn and grow!
