Pop art was an art that first appeared in britain in the 1950's. Many artists were interested in the images of mass media, advertising, comics and consumer products.

Roy Litchtenstein

Roy was a pop artist famously known for his comic strips. He used many bright strident colours and ideas in his art. He was well because of his painting Wham a comic picture that he painted in 1963.

Andy Warhol

Andy Warhole is one of the most famous pop artists from 1950. He worked as a commercial artist for magazines and also designed advertising and window displays. In the early 60's he started to experiment on reproductions based on advertisements. In 1962 he began his series portraits of Marilyn Monroe, he then moved on to do portraits of Jackie Kennedy and Elvis Presley. He is also famous for his campbells tomato soup can productions.
