NEWS FROM THE HEADS
I have just realised why we are shivering in what is, even for April in England, some pretty chilly and damp weather - it’s a Bank Holiday weekend, we are training for athletics and tennis matches, and we have had the whole school photograph!

“Take every chance, drop every fear and always reach for the stars!”
This week I would like to share what happened in our Celebration Assembly on Friday. Chloe and Amalie, both in Year 6, asked me last week if they could celebrate National Dance Day by performing a dance in assembly. I, of course, said yes. Well…. I was blown away by the beautifully creative and emotive dance to the song “Lost Boy” by Ruth B. The girls choreographed and rehearsed their piece in School at lunchtimes. It was so moving, that Mrs James asked Chloe and Amalie to perform in the Nursery and Reception assembly too.

Have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend!
This week we have been looking at life cycles of butterflies and the children have created some lovely pictures and have learnt about symmetry by applying paint to one half of a piece of paper and folding it to get the imprint. They have done lots of counting when using a variety of circles to recreate their own “Hungry Caterpillar”.

We are pleased to announce that parents are now able to view their child's daily eating habits, alongside cashless till balances, from 15:00 everyday via our website and the Parent Pay Portal.
Uniform
We would like to remind parents and pupils that the socks worn with summer skirts should be plain white ankle socks, not trainer liners. Thanks.

Summer Fete Poster Competition - Junior Girls
Don't forget to enter the competition to design the poster for the Summer Fete. The theme is 'The Great Outdoors' and you will have received the information on how to enter through your class teacher. The closing date for entries to be returned is Friday 6 May 2016.
Boat Club Dinner - Saturday 7 May
Tickets are available for the Annual Claires Court Schools Boat Club Dinner which will be at the Senior Boys sports Hall from 7.00pm to 11.00pm. This Black Tie or Henley Attire Dinner is a great event. Guest Speaker will be Tom Aggar GB Paralympic Champion and four-times World Champion. Tickets £35 per adult, £30 per student and Family Ticket £115 (2 adults and 2 children). The booking form is also available from Reception.
The Boat Club would be most grateful for any raffle prizes or items that could be auctioned on the evening. These items can be left at Reception. Thank you.

PTA NEWS
As we return to school for the summer term our PTA committee are focused on the upcoming Summer Fete on 25 June. This year the theme of our fete is 'The Great Outdoors', a theme inspired by the allotment and bushcraft projects the PTA have recently supported.
If you, or anyone you know, would like to take a stall at this year’s event please contact me at emmarobertson@hotmail.co.uk. We are also looking for a number of raffle prizes. If you are able to contribute something please contact me at the same address. Your support, as always, is much appreciated.
The Great Gatsby Ball - Saturday 14 May 2016
Only a few weeks now until the ball so we hope you have your outfits ready! The ball tickets have been sent out via your child's school, so they should have been received by everyone now.
The booking forms need to have been returned so we can inform the caterers of any allergies etc and a wine pre-ordering form should have also been received.

Here’s a little more about Mini, Mid and Kool’s ‘World of Sports’ theme week this coming holiday… build your own golf course, complete the Round the World Sporting Challenge and join our professional vocalist with songs from sporting events around the world!
Creative Kool Xtra activities for older children include dedicated days of Cookery, Crafts and Textiles. Also Sport Xtra provides plenty of opportunity to develop skills with three days of Cricket for boys & girls in Year 3 and above.
