Car Signs
All car riders must have car signs that are issued by our office. We will send car signs home on Monday, August 2 and throughout the week for parents/students who did not get them at orientation. If you do not get a car sign by Monday afternoon, please call into our main office and request a sign.
Are parents allowed to walk their children to class on the first day of school?
After the first few days, parents will only be allowed to walk their children to the front entrance or to the cross walk. For safety reasons, children should not walk to the cross walk without an adult. In addition, students should not be dropped off in the parking lot.
Morning Car Line Procedures
All car riders should be dropped off in front of the building. Please drop off your children in the mornings at your first stopping point within the car line. The students will enter the building through the nearest entrance (2nd grade hall, main entrance, or the 1st grade hall). If you are waiting until you get to a particular door before dropping your children off, this will slow down the smooth flow of traffic in the car line. Related Arts teachers and at least one teacher per grade level will be on duty during the first week to supervise students and assist them with finding their classes. During the second week, there will be safety patrols on each hall and at the doors to assist students with finding their way to class. Teachers will also take their students on a tour of the school in order to make sure they are very comfortable with all halls leading to their classrooms.
Afternoon Car Line Procedures
If students need to be signed out for afternoon appointments, please sign them out by 1:30pm. After this time, you will need to wait in the car line to pick up your children.
Remember to stay in the right lane when you drive into the entrance/car line in the afternoon. All vehicles should remain in the right lane until at least 1:30pm. The left lane needs to remain open for parents who need to pick up their kids early, emergencies, and/or for any deliveries that need to be brought into the school. Again, we ask that the left lane not be blocked before 1:30pm. Parents, we need your support with this.
Please make arrangements to have car riders picked up by 2:45pm each day.
Are parents allowed to eat lunch with their children?
Are parents allowed to visit classrooms?
Are parents allowed to schedule in person conferences with teachers?

Late Registration
412 South Dargan Street

If a parent has completed the registration online and only needs to provide the proof of residency, we will be available to take this information at 8:00am. (We will not be available prior to this time due to assisting students with making sure they are in the correct classes.) You will need to bring your children with you to school. They will not be allowed to ride the bus until the registration process has been completed.
Bus Questions?
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's bus route or a change needs to be made, please email transportation@fsd1.org or call the Florence 1 Schools Transportation Office at 843-673-1118.
We have also been provided the bus route information for students who registered as of last week. We will be available to inform parents of pickup/drop-off times.
