From the Desk of Mrs. Del Prete
This year has been unlike ANY we have ever experienced before. I just want to take a moment to thank all of your for your continued support. This road has not been easy for any of us. I think all of us hoped that at some point this school year we would see a bit of what we were used to, hoping to feel "normal."
At the end of the day, that didn't officially happen. However, we did make strides TOWARD normal. All of our K-6 hybrid students are now back to school (in-person) full time. The positive vibe this brings to our school building is so great! It is awesome to see our students on a daily basis within our school walls.
For those families who remained fully remote for the remainder of this year, I am feeling very positive that we will be able to see you in school again once the fall comes around. No official plans for what things will look like in the fall have been yet determined, but I want you to rest assured that when those plans are made you will hear not only from our district leadership, but also from me.
Speaking of the fall, early registration for returning students is NOW OPEN! If you haven't done so, please register your student for the 2021-2022 school year by May 28th. There is no need to wait for August to register. Everything will be completed online, just like last summer. You should have received a special (SNAP) code to begin registering your student(s) from our district. Please look in your email inbox (from early April) for an email. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Ms. Grassano (sgrassano@isd109.org) and/or Mrs. Prouty (mprouty@isd109.org) for assistance.
Wishing you all the best during this last month of school!
Warm regards,
Candice
Mrs. Janisch, You Are One In A Million!
Thank you so much for everything you have done for our staff, students, and school. You will be greatly missed. We will always remember the kind hearted and compassionate ways you worked with the students. Without your impressive organization and dedication, Bridgeview School would not be the wonderful place it is! Thank you for running the lunchroom, preparing our students and teachers for successful testing, and always lending an ear for any student or staff member who needed it! We wish you all the best and enjoy your retirement!
Ms. Grassano, We Will Miss You Dearly!
Health Requirements for 2021-2022 Student Registration
The State of Illinois has the following health requirements for students at the following grade levels prior to registration:
Physical Examination and Immunizations
All Kindergarten, Sixth Graders, and all children entering an Illinois school for the first time.
Dental Examination
All Kindergarten, Second, and Sixth Grade students
Eye Exam by a Licensed Optometrist or Ophthalmologist
All Kindergarten students
Please plan to make your doctor appointments in the Spring to ensure your student has the required immunizations.
If your student requires medication during the school day your physician will need to complete a Medication Authorization form. A parent/guardian Medication Authorization form will also need to be completed. These forms need to be updated annually. Medication must be sent in a properly labeled prescription bottle.
Emergency Action Plans for asthma, seizures, allergies and diabetes will need to be updated every school year. Your physician will need to complete these forms in order for your student to receive medication at school. Students who self-carry an asthma inhaler or epi-pen will need to have a Medication Authorization form on file.
Summer Campin' Read Alouds
Relevant Resources for Parents
Don't forget! FULLY CHARGED chromebooks are essential for learning!
Attendance Procedures
Teachers will be tracking attendance in Google Classroom so you will not need to fill out an attendance form each day. The classroom teacher will handle this for you.
Don't Be Late!
8:10AM 1st Bell
8:15AM Tardy Bell
1:45PM School Dismissed
All students arriving late to school (after 8:15AM) must report to the office for a tardy slip. Every 5th tardy a note will be sent home. Continuous tardiness may constitute other disciplinary consequences. Our goal is for all students to arrive at school on time each day. When students are late, they miss instructional opportunities. Please keep in mind that students arriving after 9:15AM are no longer considered tardy, but will instead receive a half day absence.
Being late is detrimental to all students' learning, especially if it occurs on a consistent basis. Be sure to do all you can to prevent tardiness. Your child will thank you for it!
